Staurosporine is a potent, cell-permeable, broad-spectrum protein kinase inhibitor originally isolated from Streptomyces staurosporeus. It inhibits protein kinase C (PKC) with an IC₅₀ of approximately 2.7 nM and is widely used as a positive control for apoptosis induction in cell-based assays. Also inhibits CDK, CaM Kinase II, MLCK, PKA, PKG, and S6 Kinase. Supplied as 1 mg lyophilized powder. Reconstitute in DMSO.
