Genotoxicity
Genotoxicity Testing
Comprehensive DNA damage detection and mutagenicity screening tools — supporting cosmetic ingredient safety assessment with validated in vitro genotoxicity endpoints.
DNA Damage & Mutagenicity Assessment
Genotoxicity testing is a critical component of cosmetic ingredient safety evaluation under EU Cosmetics Regulation (EC 1223/2009) and global regulatory frameworks. Enzo Life Sciences offers a comprehensive portfolio of assay kits for detecting DNA strand breaks, oxidative DNA damage, chromosomal aberrations, and mutagenic potential — enabling cosmetic companies to screen ingredients and finished products using in vitro methods that reduce reliance on animal testing.
Oxidative DNA Damage (8-OHdG)
Our 8-OHdG ELISA kit provides sensitive quantification of 8-hydroxy-2'-deoxyguanosine, the most widely used biomarker of oxidative DNA damage. Detect genotoxic potential at concentrations as low as 0.59 ng/mL in cell lysates, urine, and culture supernatants.
DNA Damage Response Markers
Antibodies and assay kits for γH2AX, p53, ATM/ATR pathway components, and other DNA damage response (DDR) markers. These endpoints enable mechanistic assessment of genotoxic pathways activated by cosmetic ingredients.
Comet Assay Reagents
High-purity reagents for the alkaline comet assay (single cell gel electrophoresis), including low-melting-point agarose, lysis buffers, and SYBR-based DNA stains for fluorescence microscopy detection of DNA strand breaks.
Cell Cycle & Apoptosis Analysis
Flow cytometry-compatible kits for cell cycle distribution analysis and apoptosis detection. Annexin V-FITC/PI kits, caspase activity assays, and TUNEL reagents enable assessment of genotoxin-induced cell death pathways.
